Artist Statement for Quiet Joy — April 2025
During challenging times, my life informs my artwork and my artwork informs my life.
It is an opportunity to transform and make better; to uncover and bring out the best; to
celebrate the many layers of life and to create new ways to connect.

Through ethereal paintings, introspective drawings and meditative forms — quiet joy is
the thread that ties my work together.

I have expanded upon this concept of stillness and being by exploring and creating
with a wide range of materials. Each work is a mindful journey – celebrating simplicity
of form, found materials, layered surfaces, lasting connections, quiet space, and the
wisdom of stillness. For me that stillness evokes joy.
