Vive la Différence!

February 8, 2024 - February 29, 2024

ArtWalk and Artist Reception: Thursday February 8, 5-8pm

Vive la Différence is an expression attributed to French poet, journalist, novelist – and 1921 recipient of the Nobel Prize for literature – Anatole France.

Back in the 19th century, Monsieur France was referring to the difference between genders; we are bringing this statement to a more contemporary and intimate setting, the celebration of the differences within ourselves. Because we’d like to think that we cannot fully accept the differences in others if we ignore the differences within ourselves.

We have invited artists to submit artwork that is different from anything they have shown in the past, a celebration of the difference in them, to create this group exhibit celebrating all that is different. And different it will be!

Vive la Différence! opens with the Artists Reception on Thursday February 8th from 5 to 8pm, and will feature the creations of 35 inspired artists:

Susan Angier – Pam Bartlett – Robert Bent – Paul De Beauvoir – Adell Donaghue – Vivien Eiseman – Vincent Frano – Chelvanaya Gabriel – Ken Gagne – Sara Gately – Scott Haag – Marcia Hendrick – Vanessa Kerby – Ruth Kjaer – Ariel Kotker – Julie Kumble – Kate Lapierre – Louise Laplante – Jennifer Lotstein – Sara Lyons – Brian Mc Quillan – Doris Madsen – Sarah Marquesen – Christine Mirabal – Jason Montgomery – Trisha Moody – Nancy Natale – Diane Norman – Chris Plaisted – Karen Randall – Matthew Simons – Dianna Stallone – Chris Sullivan – Jenny Tibbetts – Andrea Zax.
